In Austin for a couple months to focus on music, so I actually have time to do stuff like take pictures and post them on Tumblr. Trying to get to know my camera so I can shoot some rad music videos while I’m down here.
Vienna is such a beautiful fairy-land, especially during the holidays. It might be my favorite city in Europe - it’s not overrun with American tourists and it still has a character of its own. In my experience, Austrians are very polite and friendly and overall stellar people. The downsides are that it’s quite expensive and it doesn’t have the best nightlife (in my experience; I didn’t get to hang out much in the university part of town, which would probably be more my speed than the super expensive and fancy clubs and restaurants I saw.) But it makes a great place for a family trip if you can get your parents/grandma/favorite aunt and uncle/etc. to take you. And if, like me, you’re obsessed with Secessionist art, it’s the place to be (the Neue Galerie in NYC is also a great place to get your Secession on). I got to go during Klimt’s 150th birthday celebration which was totally radtastic!
Finally posting some pics from my family trip to Europe last Christmas! I was lucky enough to get to go to Paris and Vienna with the parental units to celebrate the holidays with various far-flung extended family members. I was also lucky enough to get to test out my new Canon 7d. I’m a n00b at this, so please excuse any out of focus-ness, etc. Also any tips, suggestions, etc. are welcome. These pics are from Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (Museum of Hunting and Nature).
Hey ya’ll you can see my “Sleepwalking” video at 64 Jefferson Street Apt. 1 as part of Bushwick Open Studios this weekend…a bunch of music videos will be playing on loop in the living room with headphones ^_^
